HERE’S WHY I STOPPED DRINKING MILK IN MY LATTES.

So recently I’ve found my undying love for Caramel Lattes, and it’s weird because in my whole existence, I’ve never enjoyed coffee. Anyways, my love for lattes was short lived when I had a huge unnecessary, very unnecessary break out of spots. Now it didn’t really take me long to figure this one out because I’d consumed a cringeworthy 8 lattes in one week. Honestly, I can’t bare to think of the calories and the sugar I consumed..but I learnt my lesson. Dairy is not my friend. Lattes, if you don’t know about coffee, are pretty much entirely milk so imagine someone who doesn’t drink milk to have consumed 8 cups of it..we can try find another blame for the huge break out, the weather, stress, life, but I know my skin and this was totally brought upon myself. Instead of cutting out lattes altogether which is something I’d usually do, I thought to myself, listen you love lattes, they’re cute, fluffy and taste fucking amazing so why don’t you just try and see if there is an alternative to this tragedy (I know, I know, 1st world problems and all). I turned to my followers with my desperate plea to find a new latte which would still taste amazing but without the company of a face full of spots. Here are my two options..

Soya Latte & Coconut Latte (with a shot of Caramel obvs).

Now I’m gonna be real honest with you as I’m now a Latte Connoisseur (lols), both the Soya & Coconut latte didn’t taste exactly the same. Well obviously it’s not gonna is it. But the coconut one, was absolutely not for me. My friends swore by it, but for me the taste was too fragrant for me if that makes sense. Coffee is quite savoury so I feel the caramel shot sweetens it up, but the coconut just makes the whole thing a cup full of sweetness and for me that is not what I want from my latte. The Soya latte however was more me, it’s as close to the real taste as I can find and although the taste felt a little muted, I didn’t hate it. In fact this is what my new latte will consist of. I thank my followers for always being there for me, you da real mvps honeys.

Now I googled about how Dairy can cause spots and although it’s not proven, these are a few of the things I have found..

Milk contains components related to the hormone testosterone that may stimulate oil glands in the skin, setting the stage for acne. … Although studies have shown associations between dairy and acne, they don’t show cause and effect, and they don’t prove that dairy causes acne.

Cow’s milk can cause inflammation, too, Dr. Zeichner says. The hormones in milk can react with the testosterone in your own body. … But both whey and casein release a hormone similar to insulin called IGF-1, which is known to trigger breakouts.

Milk and dairy products contain growth hormones and inflammatory substances that clog your pores and cause acne. If you eat milk, cheese, ice cream, or any other kind of dairy, and you have acne, this could be why. 

Sounds pretty legit though right?
